Bob Devereux

Bob Devereux is very aware of the power of metaphor and he enjoys the possibility of the simple shapes which can morph and have more than one meaning.

When painting he regards the canvas as a slice of air into which he can float his shapes. Only the edge is real. Colour is important to him, but so is line and the speed of line. He enjoys the physicality of paint.
He believes that all art survives on its mysteries rather than its explanations and in this respect he is an abstract expressionist.
