R J Lloyd 1926 –
Prolific artist who has worked in multi media dimensions, his work to include oils, watercolours, etchings, major stained glass works, ceramics and diverse object usage.
Reg Lloyd began painting around 1950 receiving early encouragement from the sculptor Henry Moore with who he became good friends. Later in life he became friendly with the poet Ted Hughes, one time Poet Laureate, resulting in their collaboration with Reg illustrating four of Hughe’s books of poems, including the award winning “What is the Truth” & “The Cat and the Cuckoo”.
His work is included in the collections of the V & A Museum, Tate Gallery, London, The National Maritime Museum, Oriel & Exeter Colleges, Oxford & the British Embassy in Paris.
