Terry Court

One time Head of Thamesdown Cultural Policies in 1974. Swindon’s visionary, innovative and popular first ever art officer who had a major impact on Swindon’s Art and Cultural scene for 20 years from the mid ’70’s. He instigated a golden era of arts in Swindon that included street theatre, poetry reading, alternative and open air cinema and a huge assortment of concerts, cultural events and festivals.
In 1993 he took early retirement and began painting full time, moving down to live at the Lizard, Cornwall.
For Terry creativity was the essence of life. He believed that artistic endeavour could change a person’s existence, give fulfillment, a sense of meaning and in some cases a reason for “being”.
“I simply paint what I see, experience and feel – so every day is Different”.
